Understanding the Alerting Experience When Using ZOLEO with GetHomeSafe

This article explains the different types of alerts you can trigger when using your ZOLEO device with GetHomeSafe. Learn what happens when you're overdue, how to manually raise a panic alert, and how to trigger an SOS in emergency situations.

Alert Types When Using ZOLEO with GetHomeSafe

Overdue Alerts

If you do not check-in, extend your timer, or mark yourself as home safe before your activity timer reaches zero, an overdue alert will be automatically triggered by the GetHomeSafe server.
What happens:

  • Your supervisors will be immediately notified.

  • This ensures someone is aware that you may need assistance, even if you haven’t manually raised an alert.

Panic Alerts

A Panic Alert can be triggered manually when you feel unsafe or are in a non-life-threatening emergency.
How to trigger a Panic Alert:

  • In the GetHomeSafe app, tap the Panic button.

  • Or, in the ZOLEO app, send the message #panic to reply@gethomesafe.com

What happens:

  • Your designated GetHomeSafe supervisors are notified right away.

SOS Alerts

The SOS alert is for serious, life-threatening emergencies and should only be used as a last resort.
How to trigger an SOS alert:

  • Physically: Lift the protective flap on your ZOLEO device and hold the SOS button for 5 seconds.

  • Digitally: Open the ZOLEO app and select SOS at the bottom of the screen.

What happens:

  • An SOS alert is sent to your ZOLEO SOS contacts and Global Rescue, ZOLEO’s 24/7 emergency response partner.
