GPS Favourites & Plan for Later

Learn how to create GPS favourites with a unique short code using the web portal. The short code can be used to quickly start an activity from supported GPS devices by sending it via message. This article also covers how to start your GPS favourite from your device.

A GPS short code is a custom text trigger (up to 30 characters) that allows you to start a pre-configured activity directly from your GPS device by sending a message. You can assign a GPS short code when creating a favourite or a planned activity through the web portal. Users can create favourites for themselves, and administrators can create favourites for users in their organisation.

Note: GPS short code is available with the following providers: Zoleo, Pivotel, TrackMe, and Garmin.


GPS Favourites

1. Log in to the web portal

2. In the Dashboard select "New Activity"

3. Select the user you are creating the Favourite for (administrators creating a Favourite on behalf of a user will see a user selector; users creating their own Favourite can skip this step)

4. Select "Save as favourite"

5. Give your favourite a name and enter the GPS Short Code: 

6. Select "Save as favourite"


GPS Planned Activity

1. Log in to the web portal

2. In the Dashboard select "New Activity"

3. Enter your activity details

4. Click "Next" and select "Plan for later"

5. Give your activity a name and add your GPS Short Code for your planned activity

6. Click "Plan for later"

 

Starting your GPS Short Code from your GPS Device

1. Head to the messages section of your GPS device

2. Enter your GPS short code (note the short code is case sensitive)

3. Send your GPS short code as a message to reply@gethomesafe.com

4. You will receive a confirmation message on your device that your activity has started.
