Account/Enterprise: Managing Duplicate Activity Types

This article explains how to manage duplicate activity types across your account.

What is the Duplicate Wizard:

The Duplicate Wizard makes it easy to combine duplicate Activity Types into one main version for your whole account. It helps clean up and organise your account by removing extra copies, making things simpler to manage for everyone in your organisation.

How the Duplicate Wizard Works:

  1. Duplicate Detected: If your Enterprise contains multiple Activity Types with identical names, a prompt for the Duplicate Wizard will appear on the Account View of the Activity Types page. Duplicates
  2. Select Retained Activity Type: When you open the Duplicate Wizard, you’ll see a list of Activity Types with the same name across your Enterprise. You can pick one to keep, and the others with the same name will be set to merge into it. DuplicateSelect
  3. Select Exclusions: Once an Activity Type has been selected to be kept, you may select what duplicates to exclude from the merge. DuplicateExclude
  4. Confirmation: A final confirmation screen will appear before completing the merge, giving you the opportunity to review and confirm the changes. ConfirmedMerge
  5. Confirm Merge: After you confirm the merge, the selected Activity Type will be promoted to the Account Level and keep all its original settings, including timer options. CompletedMerge
