Using your GPS device during your multi-day activity

Learn how to start and manage a multi-day trip from your GPS device

Note: The out-of-coverage feature for a multi-day activity is currently supported only on devices from the following providers: Zoleo, Pivotel, TrackMe, and Garmin.

If you are using a GPS device you can:

  • Start an unscheduled multi-day activity,
  • Check in during your multi-day activity and set your next check-in time via your device to a future time of day,
  • End your multi-day activity from your GPS device.

Your team leader can browse previous messages and filter GPS device events in the activity timeline to monitor your progress.

Starting an unscheduled multi-day activity from a GPS device

Starting a multi-day trip
  • #start[first check-in time]: Send this command to start a multi-day trip and set your first check-in time. For example, send #start8pm to start with a first check-in at 8 pm that day.

Checking in during a multi-day trip
Check-in via your GPS device with the following commands:
  • #extend[check-in time same day]: Sets your next check-in time to later the same day. For example, send #extend9pm to set a 9 pm check-in for today.
  • #extend[check-in time next day]+T: Sets your next check-in time for the following day. For example, send #extend8pm+T to set an 8 pm check-in for tomorrow.

Completing a multi-day trip
  • #homesafe: Sends a safe confirmation and completes your GetHomeSafe activity, notifying your team leader.
