Using the GetHomeSafe app without an internet connection

A guide to the methods of using thew GetHomeSafe app when you do not have internet connection available. 

Even without an internet connection, you can still interact with the GetHomeSafe app using one of two offline manual methods. This ensures continued safety management even when connectivity is limited.

The app will automatically offer you the most appropriate method based on the available devices assigned to the activity.

The following actions are supported for when operating while offline:

  • Check-in
  • Finish
  • Panic
  • Time check
  • Extend timer
  • Quick-Start

SMS - (Available for Premium Messaging users)

  1. For SMS, the app will automatically generate a pre-formatted code and open your messaging application.
  2.  After you send the SMS, you'll receive a link in response. 
  3. Tapping this link confirms your action and redirects you back to the app, where your chosen action will be recorded.

Important: Ensure the phone number of the device you are using is associated with your user account.

GPS - (Available for assigned GPS devices)

  1. For GPS, the app will deep-link to the corresponding GPS application, where a #command will be automatically sent to the GetHomeSafe server. 
  2. After you send the #command, you'll receive a link in response. 
  3. Tapping this link confirms your action and redirects you back to the app, where your chosen action will be recorded.

Important: Ensure the GPS device assigned to your activity is also assigned to your user account on the web-portal.
