Location Permissions
This article covers how to set the correct location permissions in GetHomeSafe to ensure your location syncs and displays on the dashboard during activities.
To ensure GetHomeSafe works correctly and your location is accurately tracked during activities, it’s important to configure your device permissions as outlined below.
Important: If your location permissions aren’t set correctly, your location won’t sync with our servers, and it won’t display on the dashboard during an activity. This means your automatic check-ins won’t be visible to your supervisors or monitoring team, which could impact your safety, especially in the event of a genuine alert.
Location Permissions
When you start your first activity after downloading the app, GetHomeSafe will ask you to grant location access.
- Set location access to “Always” for IOS and "Allowed all the time" for Android
This allows the app to sync your location during an activity, even if the app is minimised or running in the background.
Important: GetHomeSafe only syncs your location while an activity is active. Once the activity ends, location tracking automatically stops.
If no activity is active, your location will not be tracked.
How to Review Permissions
You can review or change your permissions at any time through your device’s settings:
Go to Settings → Apps → GetHomeSafe
Tap Permissions and check both Location (set to “Always for IOS and "Allowed all the time" for Android”)
