Quick Start Activities

Start a pre-set activity in one tap from the app, or with a single command from a GPS device.

Quick Start lets your workers begin a check-in activity without filling in the New Activity screen. An administrator links Quick Start to an activity type. Workers then tap Quick Start on the Home screen, or send #start from their GPS device, and that activity begins straight away.

Before you start

  • Quick Start is available to every organisation, but an administrator has to set it up before workers can use it.
  • Activity types that need approval or include a risk assessment can’t be used for Quick Start.
  • You can set up two Quick Starts: one for the mobile app and one for GPS devices. Each one links to a single activity type.

Set up Quick Start (administrators)

  1. In the administrator dashboard, go to Activity Types.
  2. Click Quick Start at the top of the screen.
  3. Choose the activity type to use for the mobile app, the GPS device, or both.
  4. Save your changes.

Use Quick Start

  • In the app: Tap Quick Start on the Home screen. If the activity type has a Pre-Start screen, it will still show before the activity begins.
  • On a GPS device: Send the #start command to begin the GPS Quick Start activity.
